Posted on: January 16th, 2017

The brightest and freshest OPM stars gathered at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum on January 16, Monday, to stage special WISHclusive performances for the 2nd Wish 107.5 Music Awards.

Wishers and avid supporters who came in droves enjoyed the music spectacle as the production numbers were delivered in between the proclaiming of winners.

The grand celebration of Filipino artistry kicked off with an opening salvo from the youngest among band superstars — Ford, Joao, Niel, Russel and Tristan of BoybandPH. The pop vocal quintet, fresh from their win in the well-followed TV show, “Pinoy Boyband Superstar,” performed their debut single, “Unli.”

Another set of newly-found OPM gems wowed the crowd anew with an Adele medley. Tawag ng Tanghalan finalists Maricel Callo, Mary Gidget dela Llana, Pauline Agupitan, Marielle Montellano, Eumee Capile and Noven Belleza slayed “When We Were Young,” “All I Ask,” and “Hello.”

Meanwhile, OPM divas KZ Tandingan, Sassa Dagdag and Zia Quizon teamed up for a stunning collaboration of a medley featuring Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” Paramore’s “The Only Exception,” and Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up.”

Further hyping up the jam-packed Big Dome was a high-energy performance from RnB royalties Jay R, Kris Lawrence, Jason Dy and Michael Pangilinan. They took the audience to a roller coaster ride of emotions as they smoothly delivered Bruno Mars’ biggest hits including the pop ballads “When I Was Your Man,” “It Will Rain” and “Grenade,” and the funky “24K Magic.”

Ending the series of performances on a high note, power belters Morissette and Marcelito Pomoy delivered a thrilling duet of Little Mix’s “Secret Love Song.”
