Let’s get to know a few things about the group and learn how they were formed into the excellent quintet they are now.

5thGen

1. The group was formed through the Euro Pop Singing Contest in 2014. The group members were hand-picked to serve as mentors for the Philippine delegates to the said competition. It was not an intention to create a pop group, however, the five decided to give it a go when a lot of people from the music industry and the press kept asking them if they were a group.

2. 5th gen was officially formed in September 5, 2014. The 5 in that date was a part of the reason behind their group name. More importantly, their group name represents the variety of each member’s voice qualities. However, as a group, their voices come together as one, creating perfect harmonies.

3. 5th Gen can sing a wide variety of genre, including R&B, Broadway, and ballads.
Indeed, these guys are not just another pop group. Just over a year after they were launched as a group, there are more yet they can unveil with their collective talents. And we sure can’t wait to watch out for that.

4. Now let’s get to know the members of 5th Gen, beginning with the two ladies – Lady Onagan and Marielle Mamaclay. They are both very talented, beautiful, and World Championships of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) medalists.

5. The gentlemen of the group are Rhap Salazar, RJ Buena, and Reymond Sajor. These three are also WCOPA victors. Rhap is the youngest among the five at age 17. He was once a part of the famous kids’ gag show, “Goin’ Bulilit”.

6. Wish 107.5 was a part of the early moments of the group’s career.
During the Wish 107.5 concert on August 25, 2015 held at the Mall of Asia Arena, the group was invited to perform. They delivered an astounding version of the Jessie J hit “Flashlight”. On September 23, 2015, the group also performed for the Roadshow to promote their newest single.

7. Speaking of their newest single… it is contagious. Literally, as it is the title of their song; and figuratively because it is so wonderfully sung, you would like to share it to others. The song is composed by Italy-based Simone Ermacora and New York-based lyricist-rapper Theory.

5th Gen is a pop group we ought to love and support. In the upcoming Wish 107.5 Music Awards, they are nominated for three awards – Wish Promising Artist, Wish Original Song of the Year, and Best WISHclusive Performance by a group, both for “Contagious”.
