7 Things to Know About Chlara
Chlara is one of the newest darlings of the OPM industry. With her charming face and angelic voice, she will definitely capture your hearts and ears. As she takes on the entertainment scene one step at a time, let’s familiarize ourselves first with some things about this up and coming 21-year old talent.
1. Chlara was born in England to Filipino parents. At age nine, they moved to the Philippines and here, she started honing her music skills and constantly joined singing programs at her school.
2. Her love for music became evident at a very young age. She started singing at the age of three. Her musical influences include those which her family used to play back in their home – Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Air Supply, The Carpenters, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion.
3. She began playing guitar when she was 11. When she entered college, she also took a further step in music and started writing her own songs. Since then, she realized that what she wanted to do was to make music, sing, and share this to the rest of the world.
4. At 21, Chlara has already achieved so much. She has been dubbed as the acoustic songbird, and do you know what Chlara and Air Supply, one of the musical groups that influenced her, have in common? Like Air Suppy, she is signed under the international music company, Evolution Music Group.
5. In 2014, she released her debut album “Unstoppable”. It features 11 original self-written compositions which she recorded in Manila with Swiss-based producer Adrien Zerbini. Chlara is indeed unstoppable.
6. Before releasing her album, Chlara had already taken a big step in her career. In 2013, she made her debut overseas in a live performance at the Poly, Theatre, Beijing, China as a special guest to UK Talent Star Connie Talbot, who is also under the Evolution Music Group.
7. Chlara may seem extraordinary with the world-class talent she was gifted with. But like any other young lady, she also has her big time celebrity crushes. Daniel Padilla and Migz Haleco luckily made it to her list. Her track “You Complete Me” is actually a secret love letter to them.
With all these things we now know about Chlara, here’s another thing you should not miss: she is nominated for three Wish Music Awards – Best WISHclusive Performance by a Female Artist for “You Complete Me”, Wish Urban Song for “Unstoppable”, and Wish Female Artist of the Year.
