7 Things to Know About InnerVoices

The voice of the Filipino music group InnerVoices is a sound you should hear. They have been creating music for a long time now, but it was not until recently that the band members decided to get back together after their disbandment during the ‘90s. Let’s acquaint ourselves with this group with these 7 facts we should know about them.

1. InnerVoices is composed of 5 brilliant musicians – Alvin Herbon, Ruben Tecson, Nants del Rosario, Boying Bergado, and Rene Tecson.

2. Original members Boying, Rene, and Ruben have been good friends for 22 years now. It was during the early ‘90s when they decided to form a group along with some of other friends. But, a few years after, they went their separate ways to pursue different careers.

3. In 2013, the three decided to meet once again and did some home recording. This was the beginning of the revival of the group, with new recruits, Nants and Alvin, to fill the former members who were unavailable.

4. The music of InnverVoices reflects the genre – ’80s, ’90s and early 2000’s classic contemporaries, as well as pop and ballads.

5. The “new” InnerVoices recently recorded their first demo “Find a Way”. Initially, they posted it on their Facebook page. When warm comments and encouragements greeted the group, they decided to record a few more songs.

6. With this, they came up with an eight-song compilation album, produced by Universal Records. OPM icon Vehnee Saturno served as the mentor of the group during their recording.

7. Apart from their music, the members of InnerVoices also have their respective professional jobs – Boying is a customs lawyer; Rene, a marketing executive; Ruben owns a company that supplies security systems; Nants, a senior engineer for a Laguna-based semi-conductor trading company; Alvin, meanwhile, is a full-time musician.
