7 Things to Know About Jason Dy
The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 Grand Champion Jason Dy is more than just a pretty face and a perfect voice. When he stepped on the stage for his audition, we were immediately enchanted. And as he crooned his way to victory, we made sure to keep an eye on this talented young lad. But let’s get further acquainted with him instead of just knowing that he has the looks and the voice of man every girl easily swoons over.
1. Jason James Dy was born in the Timber City of the South, Butuan. It’s his hometown so this is probably where he started building his dreams, thought that he was going to take a leap and make it big someday. Well, that someday has already come for him – that, we all know.
2. He has the same birthdate as our national hero, Jose Rizal. Jason was born on June 19, 1990. Unlike Rizal, he might not have done some patriotic acts but in some ways, Jason is a hero – with how his sweet, soulful voice soothes us and makes us feel better, and how his victory in the Voice of the Philippines Season 2 inspired us to strive hard to reach out for our dreams just like he did.
3. Here’s another reason to love Jason Dy: his love for his mother is unconditional. Throughout his stint in the Voice of the Philippines, he had constantly mentioned how he honors her mother who has been working hard in Singapore to sustain them after she and Jason’s father separated.
4. Do you know what a Haranista is? They are professional singers who would personally surprise and serenade a customer’s loved one. Jason Dy was a professional haranista months before he auditioned for The Voice of the Philippines. How lucky were the people he had serenaded? The next thing these people knew, that haranista was on television, and serenaded the Filipinos towards his triumph.
5. Jason was also fond of uploading his videos on Youtube. You should check out his channel, Jason Dy, and personally watch his covers of popular songs he uploaded some years ago.
6. From being a Youtube artist to a haranista, 25-year old Jason Dy has gone through a lot before achieving what he has now. Now, he is a successful, fast-rising crooner who recently released his singles “Milagro” and “Caught in that Feeling”. Be sure to give these awesome songs a listen!
7. Lastly, you should know that Jason is one of the front runners in the upcoming Wish Music Awards with four nominations. i know almost everything about jason dy. I watched his videos in youtube everytime. I love Jdy so much… I want to watch him on asap but most of the time daryl ong is always there instead of jason dy…that is why i wanted to know behind the reason why he is not on asap like darly ong. Pls. Answer tnx
He is currently a talent of MCA music. Most of the celebrities in ASAP are from Star Magic and Star Records. Probably that is the main reason why he is seldom seen on ASAP 🙁
True, Jason Dy is a world-class talent. He deserve to be heard by the world.
Most of the televiewers of asap wanted jason to perform every sunday, knowing he is the champion and is more marketable than their new talents. His fame was taken so fast after winning by not giving a chance to show off his talent by that program. Everyone knows that asap is a stage for world class talents, a stage for real champions but look how abs cbn treats him. Abs cbn didn’t value him and his talent, most importantly the trust of people whom believe more on jason’s talents. Well, that is why he won the competition right? Because many people believe him. What’s due for him is really and should due for him. The essence of being a champion has no value anymore becuase of what abs did to him. So shameful, very disappointing.
