7 Things to Know About Klarisse De Guzman
Klarisse De Guzman has gone a long way after her triumph as the first-runner up of the Voice of the Philippines Season 1. During the competition, Klarisse was known as the Soul Diva because of her poignant performances and powerful voice. Here are some facts we need to know about this fast-rising Soul Diva.
1. Klarisse De Guzman was 22 years old when she entered the season 1 of the Voice of the Philippines.
2. In her teen years, Klarisse joined different amateur singing contests. During one of these, she competed with Sarah Geronimo, who eventually became her coach during The Voice.
3. Celine Dion’s “All By Myself” is the piece she always sings during auditions. Klarisse says it was her sure-win piece. However, for the Voice, she auditioned with Cinderella’s “Tulak ng Bibig, Kabig ng Dibdib”.
4. Setting aside her passion in singing and joining singing contests, Klarisse focused on her studies first before auditioning for The Voice. But, not totally departing from her first love, Klarisse studied Music Production at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.
5. After all these, Klarisse is now living her dreams. Recently, she released her self-titled debut album under MCA Music. It includes the songs she performed during the Voice, and some original songs. Her own composition “Di Kayang Pilitin” is also included in the album.
6. In August 2014, Klarisse staged her first solo concert at Teatrino, Promenade Mall.
7. On Wish 107.5’s WishDependence Day held at the Enchanted Kingdom, Klarisse was one of the artists who performed during the free concert.
Another thing you should not miss about Klarisse is her hit single “Magpakailanman”. It has also been nominated as Wish Ballad Song and Wish Original Song in the upcoming Wish 107.5 Music Awards. Klarisse is up for the category Wish Female Artist of the Year. Vote for her here. Polling period ends on 12 noon on the same day of the WMA on January 26, 2016 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
