7 Things to know about Paolo Onesa

Cutie crooner Paolo Onesa is gently making his own name in the music industry with the recent projects and happenings he has been busy with. Stepping on the Voice of the Philippines stage signified not only his sheer involvement in the competition, but also his undertaking of a big leap to reach his aspirations. Let’s take a closer look at the journey of this fast-rising 22-year old crooner.

 
1. Paolo Onesa comes from the urbanized city of Zamboanga. After his stint in the Voice of the Philippines Season 1, he left his hometown and moved to Manila for good to pursue his singing career.

 
2. It was his grandmother who saw Paolo’s potential as a singer. She taught Paolo music and encouraged him to take a path in the field.

 
3. One of Paolo’s first steps in chasing his dreams was attending summer music workshops. Eventually, he also formed a band and vied in local band competitions, which acted as his training ground before entering the larger music scene.

 
4. Paolo juggled his music and his studies. He took up Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication at Ateneo de Zamboanga.

 
5. After Paolo competed in the Voice, many opportunities opened up to him. One is his performance in the first anniversary part of Smart’s homegrown music service, Spinnr. Paolo was invited to grace the special event which was held in November 2014.

 
6. Earlier in 2014, Paolo released his debut album entitled “Pop Goes Standard”. It features popular love songs in signature standards style. Some of the tracks included are “When I Was Your Man”, “Make You Feel My Love”, and “You are so Beautiful”.

 
7. Apart from his natural talent and his strong will, what else had put Paolo in the state of success he now swims in? Well, it’s really a question of ‘who’ – it’s none other than, his loving fans. Paolo’s fans club is known as ‘Paollowers’ and Paolo can count on them at all times and for
whatever cause.
