7 Things to Know About Rouge Band

All-female pop rock band Rouge is ready to prove that in the music scene, the powerful sounds of four women can be difficult to disregard. With this, let us take the time, not just to listen to their music, but also to get to know them better. Here is a list of the things we should know about Rouge Band.

1. Rouge Band is an all-female pop rock band formed in 2013. The band is signed under Star Records.

 

2. Let’s get to know the four talented members behind the brilliant music of Rouge – starting with Jeri. Jeri is the guitarist of the band. Apart from doing music, she is also a hard-working businesswoman and an entrepreneur.

3. Next is the band’s drummer, Gyan. She is a no ordinary drum player. At the age of 10, she was already rocking the drums and joining competitions along with her two older brothers.

 
4. Princess is the violinist of the group. When she was younger, she was a member of the Cebu Youth Symphony Orchestra Junior Ensemble. But aside from music, Princess is also an artist. During her spare time, she is fond of creating artworks and recycling empty glass bottles.

 
5. Last but not the least is Kara. Kara is the bassist and the considered leader of the group. She was a competitor in the season 2 of Pinoy Dream Academy.

 
6. The musical influences of the group is quite diverse as each member has her own taste and style. However, the girls manage to combine these and create a one-of-a-kind harmony for the band. Among their influences are Sheryl Crow, Katy Perry, Up Dharma Down, Alanis Morissette, classical musicians, and Pinoy rock legends.

 
7. Rouge Band is included in Star Music’s “OPM Fresh”, an album which aims to feature and promote up-and-coming young artists and groups in the Filipino music scene. Their single “Hanep” is one of the 15 tracks in the album.

The beautiful and promising girls from Rouge are also nominated in the upcoming Wish 107.5 Music Awards. The band is up for two award categories – Best WISHclusive Performance by a Group and Wish Alternative Song of the Year for “Hanep”. Vote for them here.
