7 Things to know about Shanne Velasco

Young Diva Shanne Velasco is ready to take on the OPM stage; in fact, as a singing competition veteran, she always has been. While we are sure that Shanne’s vocal prowess can take her to greater heights in her career, let’s first take a look at her musical journey so far through this list.

1. Shanne Velasco looks highly at the Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez. Growing up, she was used to singing her songs, and during competitions she never went wrong with Regine Velasquez song pieces.

2.Shanne made her television competition debut in Eat Bulaga’s “Birit Baby”, winning second runner-up in 2009.

3. In 2013, Shanne went back to the noontime show and joined “Ikaw at Echo, Ka-Voice ni Idol”. She finished off as the grand winner, portraying as a voice-a-like of her idol of course, Regine Velasquez.

4. Shanne participated in the recently concluded Kantarriba 2015, a pop songwriting competition of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Bataan’s Center for Public Affairs & Media Development.

5. In UNTV Life’s A Song Of Praise (ASOP) Music Festival Year 3, Shanne served as the interpreter of the praise song entitled “Bawat Araw”, composed by Marlon Nabia.

6. Shanne also is one of the hosts of Klasrum, UNTV’s youth-oriented Sunday morning program.

7. Recently, a video of Shanne singing Regine Velasquez’s Shine went viral on Facebook. It already earned more than one million views.

No stranger to competitions, Shanne has another battle yet to win. She has been nominated in the upcoming Wish 107.5 Music Awards as Wish Promising Artist of the Year. Vote for her here . Polling period ends on 12 noon on the same day of the WMA on January 26, 2016 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
