7 Things to Know About Square One
A band of little rockers is not a usual thing to see nowadays. That is why Square One will definitely take you by surprise as they are the first kid rock band in the Philippines. These kids are ready to prove that greatness and talent do not come in any size or age. Let’s try to get to know them better through this list.
1. The members of Square One are barely at their teenage years. They are Kyle Jimenez on vocals, Sean Samonte on drums, JP Par on guitars, and Von Domingo on bass. All these four members were born to musical family.
2. The youngest of them is Kyle, the lead vocalist, who is only 9 years old.
3. The musical influences of the group include Metallica, Guns and Roses, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Dream Theater, Wolfgang, Kamikazee, Parokya ni Edgar, and Siakol.
4. MCA Music guides and handles the music career of Square One. Recently, the band released their eponymous debut album. It includes their own rendition of the ‘90s reggae hit, “Long Hair”, and Square One’s hit single, “Letra”, to name a few tracks off the album.
5. Since Square One was signed up by MCA Music, they have been tagged as the youngest professional recording artist in all of Asia.
6. Despite their busy schedule, the kids of Square One know that their education is as important as their music. With this, they always make sure to prioritize their schooling and manage to excel in their classes.
7. Square One aims not only to share their young, fresh music, but also to inspire others, especially young musicians their age, to pursue their dreams.
