Ben & Ben launch self-titled EP via sold-out Teatrino show

Indie folk duo Ben & Ben capped off a successful year with the release of their self-titled debut EP through a sold-out show at Teatrino Greenhills, December 17.

Last Saturday’s concert was a true celebration of local music and art as it did not only feature the fast-rising duo, it also showcased live painting, spoken word poetry and dance performances.

The stellar line-up of guests, which included Noel Cabangon, Color It Red’s Cooky Chua, Johnoy Danao, Bullet Dumas and singer/songwriter/cellist Coeli San Luis, further spiced up the evening.

In a Facebook post, Ben & Ben thanked everyone who supported the event.

“It all began with you, who were there from the moment we started sharing our songs, baring our souls. Preparing for this launch was probably the toughest challenge we’ve had so far. But you were there. You made the #benandbenfirstEP launch THE BEST show we’ve played.”

From carving out their own name in the local indie circuit with music that heartwarmingly narrates stories about love and life, the singing/songwriting duo broke into the mainstream with their Philpop 2016 entry “Tinatangi,” which won 2nd runner-up and Best Music Video.

Ben & Ben, composed of twin brothers Paolo and Miguel Guico, is a nominee in the 2nd Wish 107.5 Music Awards under the category Wish Promising Artist.
