Michael Pangilinan on his chance to bag a Wish award: ‘Whatever happens, happens’

In a light and fun-filled Roadshow guesting on December 8, crooner Michael Pangilinan shared his thoughts about the nominations he received for the 2nd Wish 107.5 Music Awards (WMA).

Pangilinan, who led this year’s set of nominated artists with five nods, revealed that he did not expect to receive such recognition.

“Actually, hindi ko naman talaga inaasahan na mayroon akong ganoong karaming nominations. Pero sabi ko nga, no expectations kasi whatever happens, happens — kung mananalo, mananalo; kung hindi, hindi.”

(Actually, I did not expect that I will receive those nominations. But, as I’ve said, I have no expectations because whatever happens, happens — if I will win, I will win; if not, then so be it).

The Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 2 runner-up is vying for the following categories: Wish Male Artist of the Year, Best WISHclusive Performance by a Male Artist for “One Last Cry,” Best WISHclusive Collaboration for “Say Something” (with Garie Concepcion) and Best Wish Cover for “Your Love.”

He also thanked Wish 107.5 and his loyal fans for recognizing his talent in singing, but ultimately asked the listeners to keep supporting the local music industry as a whole.

“Please support OPM (Original Pilipino Music), dahil ang number one talaga na dapat nating tangkilikin ay ang OPM.”

During his most recent Roadshow stint, the pop/RnB artist added yet another impressive cover to his roster of viral WISHclusive performances after he delivered a swooning rendition of Keith Martin’s “Because of You.”
