2nd WMA Nominees Arnel, Jason and Michael to Invade the Roadshow Today
Journey frontman Arnel Pineda, former Rivermaya vocalist Jason Fernandez and Harana member Michael Pangilinan — who all scored Wish 107.5 Music Awards nominations this year — will be invading the Roadshow today, December 8, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Wish 107.5 Bus will be parked at SM Cherry Congressional in Quezon City.
Both Pineda and Pangilinan are vying for the categories Wish Male Artist of the Year and Wish Original Song of the Year by a Male Artist for their singles, “Owe” and “Hanggang Kailan,” respectively.
The two are also competing for the Best Wishclusive Collaboration award for their performances of “Say Something” (Pangilinan and Garie Concepcion) and “I Finally Found Someone” (Pineda and Morissette).
Meanwhile, Fernandez is up for the Best Wishclusive Performance by a Male Artist with his acoustic rendition of the Rivermaya classic, “Ulan.” In the same category, Pangilinan received another nomination for his Wishclusive performance of Brian McKnight’s “One Last Cry.”
With his remake of Alamid’s “Your Love,” Pangilan earned his fifth nod from the awards’ screening committee (Best Wish Cover) , making him the artist who got the most number of nominations for the 2nd WMA.
The Best Wishclusive Collaboration and Best Wishclusive Performance nominations are given to artists who delivered exceptional performances during their guesting on Wish 107.5. On the other hand, the Best Original Song and Best Wish Cover recognitions are bestowed to artists whose songs were professionally recorded and/or commercially released.
Polling period for the second WMA will be from December 16, 12 noon until January 16, 2017, 12 noon. Online votes will comprise 50 percent of a nominee’s total score, while the other 50 percent will come from the votes of a select panel of judges.
The second Wish 107.5 Music Awards will be staged on January 16, 7:30 pm, at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
